For for nearly 75 years, Dana-Farber has been at the forefront of pediatric cancer discovery and care. Each year, more than 3,000 patients are treated in our Jimmy Fund Clinic and have access to hundreds of clinical trials providing the latest treatments available. We consistently rank among the top pediatric cancer centers in the country. The Institute also founded one of the nation’s first programs for survivors of childhood cancer called the David B. Perini, Jr. Quality of Life Clinic.
Despite these advances, however, pediatric cancer is still the leading cause of disease-related death in children in the United States. At Dana-Farber, our Department of Pediatric Oncology accelerates discoveries in pediatric cancer research, and our research and clinical care teams then work together to rapidly move discoveries from the laboratory to the patients who need them.
Gifts to The Dana-Farber Campaign will empower our researchers, clinicians, and staff to be the best at what they do, supporting work in the lab to clinical trials to the specialized clinical care our youngest patients deserve. Gifts will fund pediatric treatment programs seldom offered elsewhere, including parent and sibling support, psychosocial screening, and quality of life and symptoms evaluation programs to make treatment as comfortable and side-effect free as possible. Our ultimate goal: stop all childhood cancers in their tracks.
The Campaign will accelerate efforts to stop every childhood cancer in its tracks.
