Join Dana-Farber’s Chief Scientific Officer, Kevin Haigis, PhD, as he leads a discussion with three immunology experts, Judith Agudo, PhD, Stephanie Dougan, PhD, and Evanna Mills, PhD, about how they are using basic science to tackle some of immunology’s most complex challenges, particularly in breast cancer, colon cancer, melanoma, and pancreatic cancer. The panelists will also highlight the importance of collaboration, mentorship, and empowering women scientists in continuing to move this work forward. Join Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline for a free screening of American Symphony, a documentary film that follows Grammy Award–winning musician Jon Batiste and his wife, New York Times best-selling author Suleika Jaouad, as Jon composes a symphony and Suleika faces a leukemia recurrence and undergoes a second bone marrow transplant. Before the film, hear from American Symphony’s award-winning producer, Nina Fialkow, and Dana-Farber's Robert Soiffer, MD, who will discuss the importance of expanding access to life-saving blood stem cell and bone marrow transplants, particularly for patients of color. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about Jon and Suleika’s Become a Lifesaver Campaign.
